A Little Victory
I don’t have a lot to say today, but I did want to share a little win!
__________
Every Sunday, my husband has to be at the church by 8:30, so, for the most part, we don’t ride to church together. This means that I get our daughter, Charlie, ready for church on my own. Now, one thing you have to know about me is that I am not a morning person. I am the type to wait until the very last minute to get out of bed. And, because of my bad habit, we are always in a hurry on Sunday mornings.
Routine:
Get out of bed.
Brush my teeth before starting my makeup and hair.
Wake up Charlie.
Fix her cereal while she watches her show.
Finish getting myself ready.
Brush Charlie’s teeth and fix her hair.
Get Charlie dressed.
Grab our things and walk out the door.
Every Sunday we follow the same routine.
But the other week, we were about to walk out the door and Charlie runs back into her room and grabs her Bible and asks to take it with her. This is not something we’ve really taught her yet, but she’s learned it anyway just by watching us. I was filled with so much pride and couldn’t wait to tell her dad!
It felt like such a parenting win to know that we’re setting a good example, and that she’s learning to love Jesus.
